Worked on the Aiven-Open/karapace repository to maintain compatibility with evolving Python versions, focusing on stability and risk reduction for production deployments. Addressed a critical regression in CPython 3.13’s importlib, ensuring the application continued to function seamlessly as Python advanced. Updated the project’s test matrix and continuous integration workflows to verify support for Python 3.13 and other recent versions, using Python and YAML to define and automate these processes. Leveraged Docker to maintain consistent build environments, which helped minimize deployment risks for customers and reduced future maintenance overhead by proactively aligning test coverage with upstream language changes.
