Developed a new feature for the srl-labs/containerlab repository, enabling automated backups of running configurations through an enhancement to the save command. By introducing a --copy option, the work allowed users to save active configurations to a user-specified directory with timestamped filenames, supporting improved auditability and disaster recovery in container orchestration workflows. The implementation focused on backend development using Go, emphasizing code quality and maintainability. No major bugs were reported or addressed during this period, as efforts centered on delivering this targeted capability. The contribution deepened the platform’s backup functionality while demonstrating proficiency in Go and container orchestration concepts.
