During November 2024, Kevin Lochhead developed foundational CAD infrastructure for the fan adapter feature in the FormulaRacingatUCDavis/FE12_CAD repository. He designed and implemented the base part and test assemblies using SolidWorks and version control with Git, establishing a testable baseline for rapid iteration and validation. This work enabled the team to accelerate fan adapter readiness and reduce downstream design risk by supporting iterative design reviews and future CAD integrations. While no bugs were fixed during this period, Kevin’s contributions provided essential scaffolding for ongoing development, ensuring that the CAD environment could support efficient prototyping and collaborative engineering workflows.
