
Over six months, contributed to the openhab/openhab-addons repository by developing and enhancing the Sbus binding for home automation. Focused on device integration and control, implemented support for a range of Sbus devices including RGBW controllers, temperature, contact, lux, motion, and 9-in-1 sensors, as well as DateTime synchronization. Leveraged Java and OpenHAB Binding Development to build configurable channel frameworks, extend protocol support, and refactor handlers for modularity and future extensibility. Enhanced automation reliability and user control by adding features such as STOP commands for rollershutters and on/off control for RGBW channels, while maintaining comprehensive documentation and code traceability.

In April 2025, delivered STOP command support for the sBus binding on rollershutter devices within the openhab-addons repo. The enhancement updates the handler logic, channel types, and documentation to properly interpret and execute STOP commands, enabling immediate halting of motion and safer control flows. This work improves automation reliability, reduces user friction in shutter automations, and aligns with safety best practices for motorized devices."
