Worked on the bdaiinstitute/spot_ros2 repository to enhance packaging hygiene for the Spot_msgs component, focusing on enabling namespace packaging and reducing import-related issues. Addressed a packaging bug by removing the spot_msgs/__init__.py file, which allowed for cleaner imports and better alignment with the ROS2 namespace packaging strategy. This targeted change improved the robustness of the package organization and paved the way for smoother continuous integration and future upgrades. The work involved Python and ROS2 packaging conventions, with careful attention to commit traceability to support auditability and onboarding. No new features were added during this period, focusing solely on packaging stability.
