September 2025 monthly summary for SumoLogic/sumologic-otel-collector-packaging: Delivered a new local package installation workflow by adding --package-path to the install.sh script, enabling installations from local or pre-downloaded packages on Linux and macOS. CI workflows were updated to support testing this flow by correctly configuring environment variables. This work improves reproducibility, supports offline deployment scenarios, and reduces install friction for customers using custom or pre-built packages. In SumoLogic/sumologic-otel-collector, we removed Windows Server 2019 and LTSC2019 support from CI pipelines, Makefiles, and shell scripts, reducing maintenance burden and speeding up feedback loops. In open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib, we stabilized the API by unexporting NestingProcessor (renamed to nestingProcessor) to prevent external reliance on internal components and clarify the public surface. The changes improve developer experience, reduce downstream churn, and position the projects for smoother future enhancements.

June 2025 monthly summary for open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib focused on reliability improvements in the SumoLogicExtension.
