Worked on the openhab/openhab-addons repository to address a bug affecting hot water temperature setpoint control within the Modbus STIEBEL ELTRON integration. Focused on backend development using Java and the Modbus protocol, the work restored the ability to change hot water setpoints, directly improving system reliability for home automation users. Enhanced the string representation of system parameters to make debugging and maintenance more straightforward, which also improved overall readability for developers. The targeted fix reduced support friction and laid a foundation for future improvements in Modbus integration, demonstrating a methodical approach to problem-solving and code clarity within a collaborative environment.
