During December 2024, Gi Quieu developed a feature for the BiteSpeed-Dev/chatwoot repository that enables locking conversations to a single thread for API channels. This work involved both backend and frontend development using Ruby on Rails and Vue.js, updating the UI to recognize API inboxes as valid targets for single-thread locking. Gi ensured that when this setting is enabled, only the most recent conversation is considered, improving threading consistency and automation reliability. Comprehensive tests were added to validate behavior across SMS and API inboxes, demonstrating a thorough approach to quality and maintainability in the codebase, though no bugs were addressed.
December 2024: Delivered a new capability to lock conversations to a single thread for API channels, refined the UI to treat API inboxes as a valid target for single-thread locking, and added tests to ensure correct behavior across SMS and API inboxes. This work improves searchability, threading consistency, and automation reliability for API inbox workflows.
