Developed a feature for the BiteSpeed-Dev/chatwoot repository that enables locking conversations to a single thread for API channels, enhancing workflow consistency and searchability within API inboxes. The implementation involved both backend and frontend development using Ruby on Rails and Vue.js, with updates to the user interface to recognize API inboxes as valid targets for single-thread locking. Comprehensive tests were added to verify correct behavior across SMS and API inboxes, ensuring reliability and preventing regressions. This work focused on improving automation and conversation management by enforcing last-conversation semantics when the lock-to-single-conversation setting is enabled for API inboxes.
