Worked on the EQEmu/Server repository to address a network reliability issue affecting UCS LAN connectivity. Focused on server development and network programming using C++, the developer implemented a targeted fix in the EnterWorldPacket logic to ensure UCS connections consistently use the server’s local address. This adjustment improved the reliability of LAN client connections and enhanced compatibility with external clients, reducing connection failures in mixed network environments. The patch was applied with minimal code churn, maintaining a clean commit history. The work demonstrated a precise approach to configuration management, directly resolving support issues related to UCS local address handling in LAN scenarios.
