Worked on the box-ui-elements repository to address a reliability issue affecting file uploads, specifically targeting cases where negative timestamps could cause UI date formatting errors. The solution involved updating the JavaScript function responsible for handling file modification dates, ensuring it returns null for negative values to prevent downstream errors. Comprehensive tests were added to cover these edge cases, supporting regression safety and ongoing quality improvements in the front end. This focused bug fix improved upload stability and aligned with broader efforts to enhance the user interface. The work demonstrated attention to detail in JavaScript and front end development within a production environment.
