Developed a configurable timeout feature for subtitle extraction in the jellyfin/jellyfin repository, enabling users to define how long the system waits for subtitle extraction before timing out. This enhancement addressed playback reliability by preventing stalled subtitle rendering, particularly in environments with slower I/O or when using external subtitle providers. The work focused on backend development using C# and emphasized configuration management to ensure flexibility and maintainability. No major bugs were reported during this period, reflecting attention to code quality and robustness. The solution reduced user friction and support needs by aligning system behavior with diverse user environments and performance requirements.
