Worked on the awslabs/landing-zone-accelerator-on-aws repository to deliver policy tagging functionality focused on customer-managed IAM policies. Implemented accelerator tags to enhance resource organization and governance, while establishing controls to prevent tagging of AWS-managed IAM policies, thereby reducing audit risk and tagging drift. The technical approach involved using AWS CDK and TypeScript to define infrastructure as code, ensuring safe automation and compliance with governance boundaries. Collaborated with engineering teams to manage version control and change management processes, and executed a rollback to revert unintended tagging on AWS-managed resources. This work improved cost tracking, ownership clarity, and access governance for policy resources.
