Worked on the rapid7/metasploit-framework repository to enhance SSL/TLS vulnerability scanning capabilities over a two-month period. Developed a comprehensive SSL/TLS scanning feature using Ruby and the Rex::SSLScan library, replacing manual iteration with robust scanning logic to improve detection and reporting of weak ciphers and certificate details. Introduced Server Name Indication (SNI) support, enabling accurate scanning of virtual hosts and improving coverage for multi-domain TLS deployments. Integrated these enhancements seamlessly into the existing workflow, reducing manual configuration and increasing the quality of vulnerability assessment data. Focused on network security, SSL/TLS protocols, and vulnerability scanning throughout the development process.
