Worked on stabilizing the playback user experience for the jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv repository by addressing a persistent memory leak and UI inconsistency related to playback action popups. Focused on Android development using Java and Kotlin, the work involved ensuring that all playback action popups were properly dismissed when their associated fragment was detached. This required careful management of the fragment lifecycle and cleanup within action classes, specifically implementing onDetachedFromHost logic. The targeted bug fix improved the reliability of fragment transitions, reducing the risk of crashes and visual glitches, and contributed to a more stable and maintainable Android TV application interface.
