Worked on modernizing and stabilizing the CI/CD pipeline for the confluentinc/common repository by aligning build and test workflows with Java 17 using YAML-based configuration management. Implemented project-wide updates to the Semaphore CI configuration, ensuring consistency with the Java ecosystem upgrade and reducing risk during the transition. When the upgrade introduced build failures, reverted the Java version in the CI pipeline back to 11, restoring baseline compatibility and stabilizing nightly and pull request validations. Demonstrated a pragmatic approach to DevOps by balancing modernization efforts with reliability, maintaining clear documentation and traceable changes to support ongoing maintenance and future upgrades.
