Worked on improving Windows build reliability for the microsoft/vcpkg repository by addressing a critical compatibility issue in FFmpeg source processing with MSVC and UTF-8 encoding. Developed and delivered a targeted bug fix that resolved FFmpeg’s UTF-8 handling on Windows, ensuring correct source processing and addressing a longstanding upstream issue. Updated the vcpkg port configuration to automate patch delivery for Windows users, streamlining the distribution process. The work involved C and CMake, with a focus on build system configuration and cross-platform compatibility. This contribution enhanced the robustness of Windows builds and simplified maintenance for developers relying on FFmpeg through vcpkg.
