Worked on the rapid7/strimzi-kafka-operator repository, focusing on a targeted dependency upgrade cycle to improve security, performance, and compatibility. The approach centered on proactive maintenance, updating project dependencies to newer versions in order to apply security patches and leverage performance enhancements from the latest libraries. This work ensured the operator remained aligned with upstream Kafka ecosystem changes and reduced vulnerability exposure. Utilizing Go and Makefile, the developer applied skills in build automation and dependency management to support ongoing stability and future upgrades. No major bugs were addressed during this period, as the primary emphasis was on maintaining a healthy codebase.
