Worked on improving Roku device integration within the openhab/openhab-addons repository by addressing communication reliability issues. Focused on backend development using Java and network programming, the work involved updating the RokuHandler to validate host headers and resolve device hostnames to IP addresses, ensuring more stable connections. Enhanced error handling and device status updates were implemented to provide better observability and reduce intermittent disconnects between OpenHAB and Roku devices. The changes, tracked through a specific commit, delivered measurable improvements in device status accuracy and overall integration stability, reflecting a methodical approach to troubleshooting and maintaining robust networked device communication in Java environments.
