During November 2024, Rekan Norman focused on improving data integrity within the google/perfetto repository by addressing an issue with power counter calculations. He implemented Power Counter Positive Value Normalization, ensuring that all power counter values are non-negative and consistent with other reporting sources. This targeted bug fix was delivered as a single, low-risk commit, minimizing potential side effects while enhancing the reliability of performance analysis. Utilizing C++ and Python, Rekan applied his skills in data processing, embedded systems, and performance analysis to support more accurate cross-system comparisons and enable more dependable data-driven optimization across Perfetto’s performance dashboards.
