Worked on the juspay/decision-engine repository to deliver targeted backend improvements focused on payment gateway selection and emandate processing. Addressed gateway filtering by correcting case-sensitive matching logic and enhancing observability through additional Info-level logging, which streamlined debugging and improved issue diagnosis. For emandate flows, fixed the MGA retrieval logic by ensuring the correct function was called based on merchant and reference IDs, and introduced an early return path to optimize performance. These changes, implemented in Rust with an emphasis on debugging and logging best practices, improved the reliability and efficiency of payment processing while reducing the time required for troubleshooting.
