During January 2025, Salixzs contributed to the jellyfin/jellyfin open source repository by delivering a Latvian localization feature for the Jellyfin media server. Using JavaScript and leveraging the Weblate translation platform, Salixzs added Latvian translations to both the user interface and core application strings, directly improving accessibility for Latvian-speaking users. The work included establishing a repeatable localization workflow, enabling ongoing updates and smoother onboarding for future translators. Salixzs validated the integration through build and QA checks, ensuring stable releases with the new language support. The focus on localization and translation expanded Jellyfin’s reach without introducing new bugs or regressions.
