Worked on the openwrt/packages repository to integrate Data Channel Offload (DCO) support into OpenVPN, enabling improved performance through the ovpn-dco-v2 kernel module when IPROUTE2 is not enabled. The approach ensured DCO usage became optional by removing the mandatory dependency on kmod-ovpn-dco-v2, which enhanced usability for devices with limited storage. Maintained full OpenVPN functionality regardless of DCO acceleration, preserving reliability for all users. All changes were implemented in C and Makefile, demonstrating skills in build system configuration, embedded systems, and network configuration. The work laid the foundation for accelerated data channels across multiple SSL configurations in future updates.
