Over four months, contributed to Datadog’s open-source projects by enhancing both backend systems and documentation. In the datadog-agent repository, expanded AWS credential discovery for EC2-based agents, supporting IRSA, ECS, and EKS Pod Identity through a custom Go-based web-identity provider, which reduced binary size by avoiding the full AWS SDK. Improved observability by logging credential sources and surfacing server-side errors. In DataDog/documentation and terraform-provider-datadog, delivered targeted documentation updates using Markdown and HCL, clarifying role management and standardizing terminology. These efforts improved onboarding, reduced user confusion, and strengthened resource management guidance for both cloud infrastructure and Terraform users.
July 2026: Datadog agent AWS credential discovery enhancements delivered for EC2-based Agent Cloud Auth, expanding support to IRSA, ECS task roles, and EKS Pod Identity; introduced a lightweight, hand-rolled web-identity credential provider to avoid binary-size bloat from the full AWS STS SDK; enhanced observability with credential-source logging and improved server-side error reporting; validated end-to-end across multiple credential sources in staging. Changes are scoped to the cloudauth/aws resolver and delegated-auth API, maintaining static-env behavior for non-EC2 builds and keeping container credentials restricted to loopback endpoints.

Month: 2025-10 — Key feature delivered in the Datadog Terraform provider docs. Replaced placeholder role/permissions examples with realistic scenarios (including API key manager roles, unrestricted and scoped application keys, and user-role assignments) to improve clarity and usability for Terraform users. This work is tracked under commit a3c6960e7f1f9af40c328cfdd4b922d80d948bdb with message '[docs] Improve Terraform documentation examples for roles and permissions (#3268)'. Major bugs fixed: none this month. Overall impact: enhanced developer experience, faster onboarding, and more accurate guidance for resource management. Technologies/skills demonstrated: documentation authoring, Terraform provider docs standards, Git-based change tracking, and domain understanding of Datadog roles/permissions.

Month: 2025-09 — Focused on clarifying Datadog roles documentation to reduce user confusion and improve role governance. Delivered a targeted update in DataDog/documentation that clarifies the distinction between managed and custom roles and notes that custom roles do not automatically inherit new permissions from Datadog updates, reducing misconfigurations and support inquiries. This aligns with product update communications and strengthens documentation quality.
