Worked on the internetarchive/openlibrary repository to improve stability and data integrity in author update workflows. Addressed a bug where stale infobase metadata could persist in author payloads by replacing an incorrect attribute deletion with a safer dictionary pop operation in Python. Enhanced the backend data sanitization process to ensure that only relevant metadata is included in updates, reducing the risk of data leakage into downstream systems. Added comprehensive unit and regression tests to verify that unwanted metadata keys are consistently stripped from author update payloads. Demonstrated a methodical, test-driven approach to backend development and data hygiene throughout the project.
