During June 2025, Daniil Tsivinsky delivered Russian language support for the jellyfin/jellyfin repository, focusing on expanding accessibility for Russian-speaking users. He integrated UI translations using Weblate, establishing a scalable workflow for ongoing localization efforts. Working primarily with JSON and leveraging his skills in localization and translation, Daniil ensured that the new language support aligned with the product’s broader localization roadmap. The work addressed the need to improve onboarding and engagement in a new market segment, enhancing the user experience without introducing new bugs. The depth of the contribution lay in both the technical implementation and process improvement for future translations.
