Worked on the coveo/ui-kit repository to deliver a targeted fix improving URL quality for commerce sorting in headless front end contexts. Addressed an issue where default commerce sort criteria were unnecessarily serialized into the URL, resulting in cleaner URLs and more predictable navigation for users. The solution involved a focused update to the URL serialization logic, ensuring that only user-modified sort criteria are reflected in the URL. This change enhanced the reliability of sharing and bookmarking while minimizing risk through an isolated implementation. Utilized TypeScript and front end development skills, with a strong emphasis on testing and maintainable code practices.
