During July 2025, contributed to the Autodesk/hydra-viewport-toolbox repository by establishing an API surface for dynamic material updates within the SceneDataSource component. Developed a new updateMaterial endpoint using C++ as a scaffold, which currently functions as a stub that logs a runtime error, thereby defining the API contract and providing a safe extension point for future logic. This approach lays the groundwork for runtime material property changes and enhances the extensibility of scene management workflows. The work demonstrates disciplined version control and a focused delivery, leveraging API development and scene management skills to enable future material-driven features in the project.
July 2025 monthly summary for Autodesk/hydra-viewport-toolbox. Focused on establishing an API surface for dynamic material updates in the SceneDataSource. Delivered a new updateMaterial endpoint scaffold intended to modify material properties in the scene. The current implementation is a stub that logs a runtime error, establishing the API contract and a safe extension point for future logic. This work sets the foundation for runtime material changes and improves the extensibility of the viewport toolbox.
