Developed and delivered a configuration-driven enhancement to the confluentinc/rest-utils repository, introducing a new property for specifying CORS exposed headers. This feature was implemented in Java and focused on backend development and API configuration, integrating the new setting directly into the CORS filter initialization process. The update allows for more granular control over which headers are exposed to cross-origin clients, improving interoperability and reducing the need for manual customization. Comprehensive documentation was updated to clarify default behaviors when the configuration is left blank, ensuring clear guidance for users and supporting predictable deployment and rollout within the existing backend infrastructure.
