Worked on stabilizing the bulk tagging workflow in the internetarchive/openlibrary repository, focusing on backend development and unit testing using Python. Addressed a recurring AttributeError by ensuring the book_page_edit parameter defaults to False when missing during bulk tagging from search results, thereby improving the reliability of user-facing operations. Expanded automated test coverage to safeguard against regressions, particularly across different search-result tagging paths. Applied defensive input handling and test-driven development practices within a Python web framework, specifically leveraging the web.input pattern. These efforts enhanced code quality and maintainability, reducing the risk of future errors and supporting more robust bulk operations for Open Library.
