Over a two-month period, contributed core gameplay systems to the GDCASU/VGDC-Game-2025-26 repository, focusing on interactive mechanics and editor tooling. Developed a physics-driven Barrel object and a Key-and-Door puzzle system, both implemented in C# within Unity, to enhance player interaction and establish reusable prefabs for future features. Reworked the Pressure Plate System to support customizable collision detection using a new collision-layer enum, and added editor-visible markers to streamline level design and testing. The work emphasized asset integration, scripting, and collision detection, prioritizing feature delivery and system scalability while deferring bug fixes to subsequent development cycles.
November 2025: Delivered the Pressure Plate System Rework for GDCASU/VGDC-Game-2025-26, enabling customizable collision detection based on player interactions, and added editor-visible markers and a collision-layer enum to simplify design and testing. Implemented in commit 9de6dc10bc07de059e17c3399bfdcdda08540eff. Major bugs fixed: none reported this month; focus was on feature delivery and stabilization. Impact: increases gameplay fidelity, speeds designer iteration, and establishes scalable collision-layer handling for future levels. Technologies/skills demonstrated: system redesign, enum-driven configuration, and editor tooling/visualization.
