Worked on the Aiven-Open/karapace repository to enhance container build workflows, focusing on stabilizing builds and improving release traceability. Introduced a more precise version tagging strategy by transforming development version identifiers, ensuring consistent and predictable image versions. Refined the build process by removing unnecessary build arguments and labels, then selectively reverted changes to maintain proper version propagation. Leveraged CI/CD practices and GitHub Actions to automate and streamline workflow automation, using YAML for configuration. Addressed both feature development and bug fixes, resulting in a more reliable and maintainable container release process with explicit commit tracking and rollback capabilities for safer iteration.
