During October 2025, Foldik addressed a critical automation reliability issue in the hortonworks/cloudbreak-images repository by engineering a targeted SELinux policy fix for SaltStack-driven crontab execution on RHEL9. He identified that SaltStack-generated temporary files for crontab entries lacked the necessary read permissions under SELinux, leading to job failures. By developing and applying a custom SELinux policy, Foldik ensured crontab could access these files, thereby preventing execution errors and reducing manual intervention. His work demonstrated depth in SELinux policy engineering, SaltStack automation, and system administration, and was delivered with clear commit traceability and documentation for ongoing maintainability and operational stability.
